POOR IN VICES RICH IN VIRTUES

A seeker's description is in no way different from the attributes of an astute devotee of the Almighty since both are the knowledgeable Souls of Consciousness!

In the sankeertana "Mada Matsaramu Leka Manasu Pedai Po", Annamacharya describes the attributes of an astute devotee of the Almighty which may conveniently be correlated to all serious seekers on the path of Realisation..........

'An astute devotee of the Almighty is one whose mind is like that of a poor, impoverished in arrogance and jealousy and deprived of desires and aspirations.

'He is certainly not the one who - loiters hither and thither aimlessly; brags loose and vulgar talk; reprimands others, irrespective of their social status, about presents not offered to him; stoops down to befriend cordially any menial person and thus becomes  ever entangled in wasteful desires.

'He is certainly not the one who - craves for earnings by any means; equips himself  with those faculties which would quench his desires and thus become arrogant about his skills; goes in  for exercises and training for exhibiting physical prowess; becomes fatigued and swoons even upon hearing about the strenuous practices mentioned above.

'He is the one who initially pays attention when the person standing before talks ill of others, but makes his own judgement and moves away from that place; receives blessings from elders on account of his behaviour and takes refuge in the Almighty Within'........

Being mirthful in majestic manners mentioned above is suffice to experience 'Being In with the One'!

Seeker's Solitude!

Om Shanti!
